Obituary of Charles S. Yahrling

Yahrling, Charles S. ?Chalie,? 80, of Thorofare, peacefully passed away on June 21, 2007. Chalie will be fondly remembered for his genuine good hearted nature and love of the outdoors. Chalie is a life long resident of the Thorofare section of West Deptford .He enlisted in the United States Marines where he served for 1 year at the end of World War II. After the war, Chalie played minor league baseball for three seasons with the Granby Phillies as a Catcher. After his baseball career ended, Chalie joined the Wharf & Dock Builders Union, Local 454 where he remained for 35 years until his retirement. Away from work, Chalie enjoyed exercising, casting a line in Fortescue for the catch of the day, golfing and rooting on the local professional sports teams. Chalie will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Devoted uncle of Mary John Hickey, Barbara Stephen Grant, Michael Susan Yahrling, Charles F. Yahrling, Thomas terry Muldoon, Patricia Scott Tillson and Shawn Lisa Yahrling. Chalie is predeceased by his three siblings; Francis Yahrling, Thomas ?Tuck? Yahrling and Elizabeth Muldoon. Viewing Sunday 5:30 to 7:30 and Monday 8:30 to 9:15 in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury. Funeral mass Monday 10 AM in St. Matthew?s R. C. Church, National Park.
