Obituary of Joseph E. Gliatto

Joseph E. Gliatto, 43, died unexpectedly this week in Richmond, Va., where he had lived for the past 15 years. Born in West Deptford and educated at St. Patrick?s Elementary School, West Deptford High School and Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Va., he worked until recently as a chef in Richmond restaurants. He also played in local bands there, designed T-shirts, looked after his cats, entertained his friends with many inscrutable wisecracks and grew his hair into a great long coil that would have dazzled a holyman. He is survived by his parents, Leonard and Jane Gliatto of West Deptford, and six brothers: Dr. John M., of Natick, Mass.; James L., of West Deptford; Thomas J., of New York City; Dr. Michael F. married to Jan, of Bala Cynwyd, Pa.; Paul G. married to Mei-King, of Egg Harbor Township; and Dr. Peter married to Yasmin, of Jersey City. A Visitation celebrating Joe?s life will be held Saturday 10 to 10:45 AM in St. Patrick?s Church, Cooper Street, Woodbury. Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM.
