Obituary of George E. Brady

George E. Brady, 79, of West Deptford, died Friday August 10, 2007 in his home. George Brady was a straight shooter who enjoyed fishing and walking the Delaware River. It was his grandchildren who brought out the best in him, melting his heart. George was ever present at their athletic events and celebrating their birthdays and graduations. He met his wife Gilda at the age of 10 in their S. Philadelphia neighborhood. They were married for 51 years until Gilda?s death in 2003. George served his country in the US Army during World War II and then went to work as a Teamster for 41 years. He lived a good life, never far from his family and friends. Husband of the late Gilda Brady nee Bascelli. Father of Linda Heritage, George Brady & his wife, Donna and Karen Sweeten & her husband, Rick. Grandfather of Skeeter, Becky & Katie Heritage; Renee Desjardin & her husband, Michael; Karis Brady and Scott, Laura, Justin, Krista, Sarah and Emma Sweeten. Greatgrandfather of Isabella and Zachary Desjardin. George was one of 15 children and he is survived by siblings, Ed Millie; Bob Susan, Margaret Brady and Catherine Conover Carl. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM in the McGuinness Funeral Home 34 Hunter St. Woodbury. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home.
