DI PIETRO? Barbara Aleene nee Michaels of Mickleton, formerly of Deptford, passed away November 26, 2007 with her loving family by her bedside after 59 wonderful years. A warm and loving caregiver, a superb hostess and a devoted friend to many, Barbara touched many lives in diverse and meaningful ways throughout her amazing life. From her warmth and kindness to her love of animals, Barbara?s generosity and loyalty was felt by everyone she met along the way. Born in Camden and raised in Deptford, Barbara was a graduate of Deptford High School. Holiday celebrations, especially Christmas, were a special time for Barbara, ?Grammy Claus? was known for her generous gift giving, festive decorating, and delicious holiday cooking. Those who loved her will fondly remember her timely greeting cards, her love of shopping and craft shows and her meticulous decorating and gardening. Barbara?s greatest sense of solace was spending time at the shore, where she enjoyed long walks, shelling and admiring lighthouses. She enjoyed relaxing with a hot soak in the tub and a good romance novel. She is the beloved wife of 36 years of Richard J. Di Pietro; devoted mother of Nicholas J. Di Pietro and Tracey Ken Mangold; ?Grammy? to Nathan and Rayna; loving daughter of the late Aleene Michaels and Joseph Joyce Michaels; dear sister of Daniel Mary Michaels and Gayle Mergenthal Greg Gleason; special aunt to Deana, Jason, Dana, Ashlea, and Brittany; and dearly cherished by her many close friends. Barbara?s Lifetime Tribute Service will be held on Friday November 30th at McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 34 Hunter St., Woodbury, NJ 08096. at 8 PM, where family and friends may call at 6:30PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter, 1200 N. Delsea Drive, Clayton, NJ 08312.
