Obituary of John R. Peacher

John R. Peacher, Sr., 85, of Woodbury Hts. died on March 2, 2008 at his son John's home in Gilbertsville, PA. Husband of the late Dolores nee Cavanaugh. Father of John R. Peacher, Jr., William D. Peacher and Richard J. Peacher. Grandfather of 4. Greatgrandfather of 7. Survived by brothers, Charles, Jesse, Kenneth and sisters, Viola Purdy, Myrtle Watson, Pauline Harris, Gladys Kesterson, and Esther Cakrp. John was born in Culpepper, VA to a farming family. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. John worked as Director of Transportation at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard and as a rigger at the Lakehurst Naval Air Station until his retirement in 1978.
