Obituary of Daphne M. Lambert

Lambert, Daphne nee Smith, of Woodbury, NJ; passed away on March 7, 2008 surrounded by her loving family; Aged 84 years. Daphne was woman of great strength and character. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed sewing, knitting and decorating. Daphne was a meticulous woman who was always "dressed to the nines"; everything had to coordinate. Daphne will be remembered as a "true lady" and will be sadly missed. Born and raised in Buckingham, England, Daphne met her husband, Walter C. during the war and left her homeland and moved to Philadelphia at the age of 24 years. She has lived in the Woodbury area for the past 50 years. Prior to retiring in May of 1991, Daphne was a retail manager for Fashion Bug for 32 years. Beloved Wife of the late, Walter C.; devoted mother of Lynda James "Slim" Carlin, Diane Lambert Noel and Susan Winterborne; Dear Sister of Vera, Brenda and William; Loving grandmother of 11 and great grandmother of 8. Daphne is also survived by her life long friend, Jane Fister. Viewing Wednesday, 8:30 —10:00 AM at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ, where there will be a service at 10:00 AM. Interment New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ.
