Obituary of Gertrude F. Johnson

Johnson, Gertrude F. nee Pascoe, of Deptford, NJ, aged 83 years, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2008. Gert was a wonderful woman who was devoted to her husband and their home. She loved animals and you could always find her taking care of not only her own pets but also the strays that often ended up in her yard. You could also find flower garden that she spent so much time in. Gert will be remembered for her wonderful cooking and will be sadly missed. Born in the Stone House Lane section of South Philadelphia, PA, Gert was a resident of Deptford since 1952. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW 2174, the Lawrence E. Jones Post in Westville Grove. Beloved wife of 56 years to Charles A. Johnson and also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and dear cousins. Visitation on Sunday, 2—4 PM and Monday 11:15 AM—12:00 PM at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ where the service will follow at 12 PM. Interment Gloucester County Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gert's name to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
