Obituary
Obituary of Edward A. Fredrick
Edward A. Fredrick, 96, of Wenonah, NJ passed away peacefully on April 5, 2017. He was holding his wife, Nancy's hand when he passed.
Legacy
Ed was a loving husband, devoted father and proud pop pop. He was a kind man; a gentleman in the truest sense of the word. He never put himself first, always asking instead what he could do for his family members. He was a steady presence in all their lives. Spending time with family and visiting with friends and neighbors in his hometown of Wenonah were among his greatest joys. The simple things were what mattered - family dinners, playing with the grand children, "puttering around in the yard", listening to classical music, laughing over the Honeymooners or Carol Burnett. He was always smiling, and those around him always found themselves smiling back.
Born and raised in Wenonah, NJ, Ed was baptized in Wenonah United Methodist Church and was proud to be their oldest member. He was a staple of the community and an active resident - he LOVED Wenonah! He was a member of the American Legion, Rotary, and was superintendant of Wenonah Cemetery for 70 years. He served 3 terms on the Wenonah Borough Council and was co-owner of Fredrick Pontiac in Woodbury. Ed was also a proud United States Army veteran of World War II, during which he flew 21 missions over Germany after landing in Europe on the eve of D-Day.
Family
Beloved husband of 59 years to Nancy (nee Ripple); devoted father of Cynthia (William) Norris MD and Edward A. Fredrick Jr.; cherished grandfather of Christina, William, Jr. and Bryan Norris; loving uncle of Ruth Louise Higbee, Sue Regina, Nadine Albert and Robert Fredrick. Ed is predeceased by his two brothers, Charles and Henry, and his sister, Ruth.
