Obituary of Maurice Heckler, Jr.

Maurice Heckler, Jr. "Bud" of Deptford, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018. He was aged 84 years.

Legacy
A loving, generous man with a warm heart and quick wit is the legacy that Bud leaves his family and friends. Bud served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the National Service Defense Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

He worked for Sears & Roebuck for 38 years as a Technician before retiring in 1993. Bud enjoyed carpentry and had the ability to fix just about anything. He and his family traveled to many interesting points including Hawaii, Alaska and Ireland. Bud's guilty pleasure was Chocolate Chip Ice Cream but enjoyed the art of a good meal. Bud will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him

Bud is the beloved husband of 63 years to Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Steese); loving father of Maurice "Bud" (Karen Jane) Heckler, Brian (Debbie) Heckler and Lisa Schultz; cherished grandfather of Christopher (Patty) Heckler, Kathleen Heckler, Jessica (Jesse) Swartz, Colleen (Dan) Crawford & Shawn Heckler; great grandfather of 4 and one due in December; dear brother of Doris Farina and Ronald Heckler.

Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bud's visitation on Friday after 9 AM in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury where his Memorial Service will follow at 10:30. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Monroe Twp., NJ. In lieu of flowers, Bud's family requests memorial contributions made in his memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
