Obituary of Theresa Rose Jordan

Theresa Rose Jordan (nee Rocco), formerly, Vogel, 89, passed away on July 25, 2018.

Legacy

Theresa lived in Mantua, N.J. for more than 50 years. She became active in local politics while working various jobs to help support her family. Even as her family grew, Theresa found time to chase her dream of becoming a school teacher. At the age of 40 she went back to school and received her degree and teacher’s certificate from Glassboro State College (Rowan University). Theresa spent 18 years teaching at Birches Elementary School in Washington Township prior to retiring. 

She stood by us through all times - happy, sad, and otherwise. She was the voice of reason, a story teller, advice giver, a partner in crime, shopping buddy, supporter, broken heart healer, teacher, chef, nerve calmer, doctor, peace keeper, cheerleader, confidant, and best friend. We shared a lot of fun times together. Theresa was a comedian and the life of the party; she always made everyone laugh. She was a strong woman and she taught us to be fearless. No matter what your age, you always need your mom. Thank you Mommy, Grandmom, Great Grandmom! We love you and always will!

Family

Beloved wife of the late Louis Vogel and John Jordan; loving mother of Veronica Vogel Fox, Janet Fitzgerald (John), John Vogel (Colleen), and Gary Vogel (Susan); cherished grandmother of  Janet Silver, Johnny Fitzgerald, Erin Vogel, Jenna Walker, Caitlin Connors, Ashley Simone, Kate Vogel, Ryan Vogel, and Aidan Vogel, and great grandmother of Paige Silver, Robbie Silver, Evan Silver, Arianna Simone, Mia Fitzgerald, and William Connors.  Theresa is predeceased by her parents, John and Palma Rocco and her sisters Marie Codario and Rita Venafro.

Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Theresa’s visitation on Saturday, 9:30 – 10:45 AM at Church of the Incarnation, 240 Main Street, Mantua, NJ, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.   Entombment All Saints Cemetery, Newfield, NJ.
