Obituary of John P. O'Donnell, Sr.

John P. O’Donnell, Sr., age 90 of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Washington Twp., NJ, Avalon, NJ and Sea Isle, NJ passed away peacefully on June 12, 2018. 
 
Legacy
A loving, caring and proud man, John dedicated his life to his family.  He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy.  John was passionate about his politics, social injustices, loved music and reading, especially the New York Times.  He enjoyed doing the New York Times crossword puzzles and competed nightly on Jeopardy.  He adored his family and was a wonderful caregiver.  John will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved him.

Beloved husband of Ervel and the late Eleanor (nee Dougherty); devoted father of Judith McGrath (Michael, Sr.), Catherine O’Donnell (Bill DeVinney), John, Jr. (Judith), Charles (Debra Ann) and step father of W. Andrew Wylde(Cindy), Gary Wylde (Karen) and Carolyn Greenberg (John);  cherished grandfather of 11 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 9 great-grand children and 1 step-great grandchild;  dear brother of Edward O’Donnell, Cecelia Chodnicki, Teresa Carroll and the late Mary T. O’Donnell, Thomas A. Jr., and Joseph.  John leaves behind many nieces and nephews and his loving dog, Muffin Man. 
 
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Saturday from 11:30 AM to 12:45PM at St. Charles Borromeo, 176 Stagecoach Road, Sicklerville, NJ 08081. Funeral Mass to follow at 1PM.  Interment St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA 19136.
