Mildred Klodowsky

Obituary of Mildred Mae Klodowsky

Mildred M. Klodowsky (nee Gismondi), of Deptford, passed away peacefully on March 6th, 2024 at the age of 87.

Legacy
Millie was born on November 9th, 1936, and was raised in New Jersey by the late Millard and Ida (nee Atkinson) Gismondi. She attended Woodbury High School and during her sophomore year she met the love of her life, Tom Klodowsky, at a soda shop in National Park. The pair became inseparable and after her graduation they married on June 26th, 1955. Together they raised their two loving children, Donna (Mark) and Thomas (Margaret).  Millie took pride in chaperoning her children's drum and bugle corps and H.S. band events. She loved hosting, and her door was always open to her many friends and family.

She had an entrepreneurial spirit and owned multiple small businesses, including a gift shop, bike shop, and tanning salon. But her true passion was in caring for children, eventually leading her to open her own daycare. She carried this love of childcare with her throughout her life, and after moving to a senior community in Deptford, volunteered at the local YMCA after school program.

Family
Millie was a loving and devoted grandmother to Dean (Christina), Lexa (Andrew), Victoria, and Thomas (Madi). Her grandchildren brought her so much joy, and she loved attending all of their extracurricular events, once traveling as far as New Orleans for her grandson Tommy’s high school band competition.  Family was of the utmost importance in Millie's life, and she always encouraged her loved ones to be strong, fair, and caring. Millie will be missed dearly by her loving family and everyone she has touched. Her spirit will live on as we celebrate her life with honor and love.
