Obituary of Robert O. Miles

Robert O. Miles, Sr. The Lord called His servant Bob Miles home on October 15, 2007. He leaves behind his beloved wife Florence nee McCann, 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and 3 siblings. Though lacking in formal education he possessed wisdom in abundance. He served in the US Marine Corps. from 1943-46 & was a tank driver participating in the invasion of Okinawa. His war experience profoundly impacted his life. He honored his parents. He was humble & considered the needs of others before his own. He did not consider himself above any other person. He was a quiet listener who never gave unsolicited advice. He never argued or complained & was thankful for the blessings of life. He worked long hours to provide for his family & found opportunity to spend time with his children. He was robust & missed only 2 days of work in an entire employment career. While his family was young & financial needs were high he worked through vacations for extra pay. He held his wife of 60 years in highest esteem and respect throughout his married life. He ministered to his children through a consistent display of selflessness. His influence was worth more to his children than a large inheritance or an ivy-league education. He was not driven to acquire material possessions. He and his wife supported their adult children but never interfered. He loved all of his grandchildren alike. He gave his family every advantage in life. He was a great husband, the best earthly father & a true man. His family is rejoicing that he trusted in the righteousness of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of his sins.
