Obituary of Dennis David Carey

Dennis David Carey, Jr. of Deptford, NJ on November 21, 2007, peacefully surrounded by his loving family Aged 60 years. Denny proudly served in the U.S. Army Vietnam Era, where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. During his 34 year career in Law enforcement , he served the community as a Dispatcher for the Deptford Police Department & a Police Officer for Wenonah and Mantua Township Police Department. He was a member of the VFW, the South Jersey Vietnam Vets, PBA Local #122 and the Tacoma Fire Company. He enjoyed vacationing at his retirement home in Beach Comber in Cape May, where he would drive the beat in his golf cart, catching up with new and old friends at the campground. Denny and his son spent countless times together on hunting excursions. You could always count on Denny if you needed him: he would be there to help or chauffeur you around town in any inclement weather. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, spending time with them was pure delight for him. Denny was a loving and generous man who loved his family and friends and will be sadly missed. Beloved husband of Linda nee Lilley of 37 years. Loving son of Mary ?Marie? nee Gallagher and the late Dennis Carey, Sr. Devoted father of Dennis Carey Dear brother of Mary ?Sis? Carey and brother in law of George Lilley, John Diane Lilley and Anna John Romano. Loving grandfather of Taylor ?Peanut? and Dennis ?DJ? Carey Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
