Obituary of Michael E. Gorman

Gorman, Michael E. , Sr. "Mickey," 80, of the Oak Valley section of Deptford passed away on February 22, 2008. Michael's legacy will be his upbeat, positive and loyal demeanor that he exuded throughout his life to his family and friends. Born in Philadelphia, Michael proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. After the War, Michael was a member of the Teamster Union Local 107 for over 48 years and worked as a truck driver for UPS, Schulman-Drake and finally Trans Freight Trucking who would deliver for Strawbridge's Department Store until his retirement in 1992. Away from his career, Michael was a lifetime member of the Brooklawn American Legion Post 72 and the Mantua VFW Post 7679. He also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching sports; especially baseball and football; and loved summers at the shore. Michael will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and good sense of humor. He is the beloved husband of Catherine nee O'Donnell. Loving father of Catherine Anne "Cassie Anne" Quinn and Michael E. Gorman, Jr. Cherished grandfather of Thomas, Michael and Joseph Quinn. Also survived by many loving brothers in law, sisters in law, cousins, nieces and nephews. Viewing Thursday evening 6:30 to 9 PM and Friday morning after 8:30 AM in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury. Funeral Mass Friday 10 AM in St. Patrick's R. C.
