Obituary of Alfred Pallante

Alfred Pallante of Woodbury Heights, beloved husband of the late Margaret nee Peggy Lang died peacefully at home with his loving family by his side as he prepared for his trip to heaven on March 21, 2008. He was 95 years old and is sadly missed by a large family including four daughters; Judy Palmarini of Voorhees, Rosemary Sullivan of Woodbury Heights, Phyllis Paul Schuster of Woodbury Heights, Peggy Jim Marks of Mickleton and his son, the late Donald Alfred Pallante. Al was also a proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Al was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. He participated in the second wave that hit Omaha Beach in Normandy during the invasion of D-Day. He made his living as a tailor in Gloucester City Pallante's Tailor Shop. All his life, he was known as a very friendly, humble, and peaceful gentleman. He loved family gatherings most and will be remembered for his famous Christmas parties and homemade cookies and meatballs. Al was very spiritual, he loved St. Margaret's Parish; he never judged anyone and was a great listener always ready to help. He was very generous man and his favorite charity was Veterans of America. He was the last Pallante of his generation of siblings, but the name lives on through his nephews. Well into his 90's, Al found enjoyment in caring for his yard and garden, playing slot machines and challenging his family and friends in cards games which he usually won. Alfred Pallante is to be remembered as wishing all peace, love and all life has to offer.
