Obituary of Francis V. Gavin

Gavin, Francis V., Sr., 81, of West Deptford, NJ, peacefully passed away on April 2, 2008. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Frank graduated from St. Thomas More High School and then served in the United States Army. Frank & Betty with their five children later settled in Woodbury Heights. During that time, he was a dedicated servant to his church and community. Frank served on the Woodbury Heights Borough Council for 2 terms. He also was an active member of St. Margaret's Men's Club and very involved in the Church. He was a retired Prudential Insurance Agent. Frank & Betty moved to West Deptford where they enjoyed their retirement and traveling. Frank enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was the life of the party with a joke to tell or a song to sing. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Frank spent the last 3 months being lovingly cared for by the staff at Sunrise Assisted Living Facility in Deptford, NJ. Beloved husband for 54 years of the late Betty. Devoted father of Ann Lou Manfre, Francis V. Beth Gavin, Jr., Theresa Randy Overbey, Mary Jo Mark Schwartz and Betsy Richard Gershman. Grandfather of Matt, Mark, Paul, Lisa, Brian, Sean, Ryan Danny, Riley, Michael and Renee. Viewing Sunday evening 5 to 8 PM and Monday morning 8:30 to 9:15 in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury. Funeral Mass 10 AM Monday in St. Margaret's R. C. Church, 3rd & Beech Ave., Woodbury Heights. Interment New Saint Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Margaret's R. C.
