Obituary of Timothy Joseph Mead

Mead, Timothy J. "Timmy" of Williamstown, NJ, died suddenly on April 5, 2008. Aged 51 years. Tim was a caring and sincere man whose life was lovingly dedicated to his family. He was so proud of his children and he made sure they knew that. He enjoyed reading about Bible history, playing horseshoes and cards with the family guys and savored his cups of Lipton Tea and pistachio nuts. Tim had a special gift with dogs and they, Lady, Chelsea and Maggie, came to truly love him and become his friends. Tim was considered "a gentle spirit" and was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed by his friends and family. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Timmy was a resident of the Timber Lakes section of Williamstown since 1971. Tim's work life was dedicated to public service and was most proud of his job when assisting senior citizens, widows, farmers, and veterans. He was the Tax Assessor for Franklin Township for the past 8 years, and also serviced Harrison Township and Newfield. He was a member of the Assn of Municipal Tax Assessors of NJ and past president of the Assn of Municipal Assessors of Gloucester County. He was a long time member of St. Mary's Parish Family in Williamstown and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Beloved husband of 27 years and best friend of Janet (nee Hesley); Proud Father of Bryan, Jessica and her friends Michael Medoro and Lynnie Milcarek, Diane and her fiancé Andrew Zigmantas. Adoring son of Dolores nee Brown; Dear Brother of Fran and Cynthia (nee Gawlinski), Donna and Vince Hagen, Dolores Ann Veight, and Gerry and Barbara (nee Low). Dearest son in law of Bill and Pat Hesley, brother in law of Jeff and Cindy Hesley, Diane and Bob Irving, and Jason and Katie Hesley. Tim is also survived by his Aunts and Uncles, and beloved cousins, the Hughes, Brown, Rosenberger, and Cipparone families, and his cherished 35 nieces and nephews. Viewing on Wednesday, 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ where a Celebration of Tim's Life will follow at 8:00 PM. Friends may gather at St. Mary's RC Church, 32 Carroll Avenue, Williamstown on Thursday, 10 AM where mass will follow at 11 AM. Interment will take place privately.
