Obituary of Leonard Snock

SNOCK—Leonard S. "Pop" of National Park, suddenly on April 11, 2008. Aged 82 years. Fiercely devoted to his family, Len was a steadfast and generous man with a great smile. Born in Philadelphia, Len was a was a proud US Army veteran of WWII, where he served as a medic. He enjoyed being a member of the National Park VFW #6884. Prior to retirement in 1987, he worked as a sheet metal mechanic for the US Naval Shipyard, Philadelphia for many years. To say that Len had a green thumb would be an understatement. Everyone in his family can look in their yard to see rose bushes flourishing that he started growing from small seedlings. Len's delicious potato salad was something that friends anxiously looked forward to at parties and gatherings. Spending hours finishing a challenging jigsaw puzzle, collecting coins, spending lazy summer days at the Shore Motel, Wildwood and being with his family were just a few things that brought joy to Len's life. He is the beloved husband of the late Anna M. nee Casper; devoted father of Kathleen Alloway Frank, Delores Hagerty, Donna Pike and Kimberly Croft Chris; dear brother of Joseph and the late Stanley Snock; loving grandfather of 11 and great-grandfather of 10; dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.
