Obituary of Ada M. Rock

Ada M. Rock (nee D’Amico), age 91, of South Philadelphia passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 18, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.  Ada was born on December 11, 1926 in Alfedena, Italy to Amelia (née Persia) and Ugo D’Amico.  She was a lifelong resident of South Philadelphia and a longtime member of St. Monica Catholic Church, Philadelphia. 

Ada was the beloved wife of her one and only love of 58 years, the late Bernard V. Rock of Ashland, PA. She is survived by her three loving children Kathryn (Joseph) Tierno, Lillian Rock, and Bernard A. Rock; five “very attached” grandchildren Amy Cameron (Ian); Gina Tierno; Kristine, Michael and Andrew Rock; and two amazing great-grandchildren Arielle and Tyler Cameron. Ada is also survived by her dear and loving sister Lillian (Joseph) DeStefano, and dear “brother”-in law Rudy (Ann) Rauco, and other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews, especially her favorite niece and Godchild Debbie (Larry) Ross.   

Ada will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving mother, caring grandmother, and dear friend. Ada loved life, was an avid reader but especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Sunday from 6 - 8PM and Monday from 9 to 10AM at McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 573 Egg Harbor Rd., Sewell, (Washington Twp.) NJ, 08080; Mass of Christian Burial 11:30AM at St. Monica Church, 2422 S 17th St, Philadelphia, PA 19145; Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing, NJ.
