Obituary of Elizabeth C. Zaruba

Elizabeth C. Zaruba (Finan), of Franklinville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 14, 2023.  She was 92.
 
Legacy
Elizabeth was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA.  She attended John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School, in Philadelphia and was a true "Hallahan Girl".  She was smart, witty and a woman before her time.  She met her future husband, John, in 1948 when he was in the Navy, and they married shortly after. Elizabeth became a proud "Navy Wife" and moved to Libia with John and had her first daughter.  Together, they lived in many places, until settling in Franklinville, NJ.   
After raising her family, she worked as a computer programmer at Scotts Paper Products, in the non-woven section.  She loved to travel (Ireland, Canada, Wales, Scottland) and enjoyed sewing, and was part of her neighborhood sewing group. 

Family
She is the beloved Wife of 61 years to the late John A. Zaruba; devoted mother of Christine West (Dale), Marybeth Fabulian (Vladimir), John Jr., (Erika)  and the late Patricia Lawrence;  loving grandmother of Jason (Chao), Phillip (Marianne), Matthew (Megan), Kelley, Dale Jr., Richard and great grandmother of Phillip Jr., Mikeala, Kaydance, Jeffrie, Alexandra, Cheyanne, Zoey, Denise, Jackson & Raegan; loving sister of Lilian Myers (Finan) and the late George Finan.  Devoted daughter to the late George & Lillian (Folger) Finan. 

 

Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her evening visitation on Monday, April 24, 2023, from 6 PM to 8 PM at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ, 08080.  Morning visitation on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Mater Ecclesiae Church (261 Berlin-Crosskeys Road, Berlin, NJ 08009), from 9:15 AM  to 10:45 AM.  Funeral Mass will begin at 11 AM.   Interment will follow at the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown, NJ.
