Obituary of Mary Joseph Einstein

Mary Joseph Einstein (nee Romoser), of Woodbury Heights, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 10, 2023 at the age of 95.

Legacy

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Maryjo worked for the Jennings Insurance Agency before meeting and marrying Jacob Tennyson Einstein (Tenny) with whom she shared 57 years of marriage and faithful companionship. Maryjo will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and as a wonderful friend to all who knew her. She lovingly and unselfishly cared for her mother and husband during their many years of sickness. She took great pleasure in daily caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchild from infancy into their teenage years. Charming, classy, fun-loving, dedicated, thoughtful, spiritual and generous are only a few of the words that characterize Maryjo. She was always discreet, non-judgmental and accepting of whatever situation that was sent her way. To know her was to love her.

Maryjo had many enjoyments in life, especially traveling and being with her family and friends. Besides her international travels, her multiple cruises and trips to Hawaii with her husband and friends, Maryjo enjoyed her vacations to Atlantic City since childhood which eventually became her day trips to try her hand at lady luck at the Casino.

Times shared with her daughter and the community of FMIJ sisters, lovingly referred to as her “other daughters” added a great sense of happiness and companionship especially in her later years. She enjoyed her sailboat sunset cruises in Rock Hall, Maryland captained by her son and daughter-in-law, especially when followed by a dozen of steamed crabs and a cold glass of beer! She always looked forward to her frequent visits from Rosemary, her dear and faithful friend.

Maryjo’s life of faith and dedication to her Lord were paramount to her. She was a strong witness of her faith and an inspiration to many. When it was no longer possible to attend Mass, she daily participated in Mass via TV. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, St. Margaret Women’s Club, St. Margaret Senior Citizens as well as Woodbury Heights Seniors.
