Angelina Crognale

Obituary of Angelina M. Crognale

Angelina M Crognale (nee DeGrazio), 102, of Washington Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2022.

Legacy

Born in Port Norris, New Jersey, Angelina was raised in South Philadelphia, PA.  In her younger years before and during World War II, Angelina was a meticulous seamstress and made Army uniforms at the Quartermaster Depot. In the early 1960’s she returned to her trade and was employed by the then named Defense Supply Agency making uniforms for all branches of service.

Angelina enjoyed tending to her home, doting on her family, cooking and baking.  Not one family event went by that there were not a tray of Angelina’s famous homemade cookies. She also enjoyed crocheting and made many blankets and hats for her family and friends. Angelina’s generosity knew no bounds and it just endeared her to loved ones even more.

In 1994, five years after the death of her husband, George T., Angelina moved to Cardinal Village and has been a resident ever since. During her residency there, Angelina ran the Village store, she also called bingo and made hats for the preemies at Lady of Lourdes Hospital. For many years she loved to hold court in the dining room with her group of friends. She was an energetic lady who never acted her age and was always on the go. Whether it was to a religious retreat, the casinos or any other bus trip that Cardinal Village or the Washington Township Seniors had scheduled, Angelina was sure to be a participant.

In 2005, Angelina received an award from President Bush for her volunteerism. At 100 years old, Cardinal Village gave the biggest and best party to Angelina as their longest and oldest resident including an impersonator from her favorite, Dean

Martin. Angelina will be sadly missed by all those who loved her.
