Theresa passed away Monday, March 5, 2018 at Inspira Medical Center in Woodbury, NJ. She was blessed to be surrounded by her loving family and a compassionate, caring, nursing staff during the final days of her life.

Born on July 19,1929 in Elizabeth NJ, to Walter Galiszewski and Antoinette Szyzkiewicz, Theresa lived in Elizabeth most of her life until moving to Deptford in 1987.

She worked at Singer Sewing Machine Manufacturing Co. in Elizabeth until she met and married the man of her dreams, her soulmate, John Potts, whom she lovingly called Jack. A stunning couple on the dance floor, they danced through life for a wonderful 59 years until his passing eight years ago.

Fondly called Mamoo and Grandma by her grandchildren, Theresa lived for her family and devoted her days to caring, guiding, and nurturing them. She lived a simple, but full life. She was an avid reader, found peace when working in the garden, surrounded herself with music, enjoyed the occasional outing to AC, and was the ultimate homemaker. She had exceptional recall and memory.  She stayed current and was able to live independently up to her last days. She referred to herself as “ordinary,” but she was far from that. She was an extraordinary individual that touched many lives with her wit and straightforwardness.

She is heartbreakingly survived by her son John Potts and wife Nancy, her daughter Linda (Potts) Miles and husband Joe, three grandchildren, John-Joseph Potts, Joseph Miles, Leslie Miles, and one great-grandchild, Jack Potts.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Potts, brother Frank Galiszewski, and sister Anne (Nichols) Galiszewski.

Theresa frequently donated to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This was her charity of choice. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her honor.
