Obituary of Joy Rita Robinson

Joy Rita Robinson, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2022. Joy was born in Philadelphia on October 19, 1938, and spent her early childhood years in Upper Darby, later moving to Drexel Hill, Paoli, and West Deptford, New Jersey. She spent her final years in Pittsburgh in the compassionate care of the staff of The Sheridan at Bethel Park.

Joy was a devout Catholic with a special spirituality. Her happiest moments were times spent with family and friends. She loved dancing, having fun, traveling, shopping, and time at the beach. She brought her unique “Joy” to every occasion and was loved and considered a great friend by many.

Beloved wife of the late Thomas F. Robinson, and daughter of the late Phyllis and Charles Burdo; loving mother of Lisa Park and Michele McGuigan; son-in-laws, Chong Park and Paul McGuigan; six grandsons, Alex, Ian, Austin, Brant, Harrison, and Aidan, as well as her loving friend John Sparta.

Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Thursday, June 16th from 9:300AM-10:30AM in the McGuinness Funeral Home - Woodbury, 34 Hunter Street. A funeral mass will follow at 11am at Holy Angels Parish at St. Patrick's RC Church - Woodbury, 64 Cooper Street. Interment will take place at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, 1600 S. Sproul Rd., Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Joy’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association of America at https://alzfdn.org/support-us/donate.
