Bernadette DiRenzo

Obituary of Bernadette DiRenzo

Bernadette “Bernie” DiRenzo, 54, of Franklinville, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

 Legacy

Born in Darby, PA, Bernie was raised in Folcroft, PA and West Deptford, NJ.  Bernie was an IT specialist for Verizon for 37 years and recently for Bridor in Vineland.  In 1994, Bernie moved to Franklinville where she lived on 3 acres of property that she tended to diligently.  Although it was hard work for her to take care of it on her own, it brought a huge smile and pride to admire her gardens of flowers and herb.  Many treasured memories were made at bonfires, sharing a Coors Light with family and friends.

Bernie was an open book and true to herself.  There was no apologizing for her fun, huge, and loud personality; she let it shine and family and friends knew where they stood with her.  Some would say that she was a spitfire with her confident and independent ways.  Where some might have seen someone tough and blunt with her love of motorcycles, don’t let that fool you…she would be the first to help if anyone needed a hand.  Bernie also had a softer side where she enjoyed the beauties in nature like sunflowers, creating beautiful works with calligraphy and spending time at the beach worshiping the sun.

Of all the titles that Bernie had, “Mom” was the most important.  Zachary and Bridget were her life.  She was their biggest fan and they knew that she would always be there to catch them if they fell.  She gave the best “mom hugs” and they will be sorely missed.  Time spent with family was cherished.  Every Christmas Bernie played Santa Claus with bells around her wrists and ankles to announce her arrival along with her chocolate covered pretzels, pies, spiked egg nog and calendars that were given as gifts.   A life cut too short but well lived, loved and enjoyed.
