Obituary of Joan S. Cooper

Joan S. Cooper (nee Vannetti), 87, of Sewell, New Jersey, passed away peacefully with her family on Thursday, March 3, 2022.
 
Legacy
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend.  Joan loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She loved to dance and was voted best dancer in high school.  In her golden years, Joan spent her time playing golf and bridge.  Some of her favorite moments consisted of meals prepared by Vince, like pizza or Christmas breakfast of eggs and peppers.  She had an undeniable love for Christmas.  A love so strong, she left a handful of decorations up all year long.  Outside of her generous spirit, Joan was an independent and strong woman.

Family
She is the loved daughter of the late Mary and Frank Vannetti.  She is also the loved sister of the late Edie and Gloria.  Joan is the beloved wife of the late James Cooper.  Devoted mother of Steve Shimkus, Jr. (Tracey) and Beth Ann Amato (Vince).  Grandmother of Courtney, Steven III, Samantha, Alexandra, Tess and Rachel.  As well as the great grandmother of Joey.  Step-mother of James Cooper III (Lee), Michael Cooper (Angela), Mark Cooper (Tina), and Linda Moseley (Jason). The loving step-grandmother of Amanda, Brett, Cole, Cooper, Kayla, Mason and Amelia.  Her special niece Elaine "Sissy".   She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extend family.  
 
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Wednesday, March 9th from 9:00AM to 11:00AM in the McGuinness Funeral (Washington Twp. Location) 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ 08080.  Funeral Service at 11:00AM.  Interment Eglington Cemetery Clarksboro, NJ. In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital - www.stjude.org.
