Obituary of Norma Adele Friel

Norma Adele Friel (nee Jones), 95, of Mantua, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 31, 2022, with her loving family by her side. Predeceased by her husband, John J. Friel, Jr., Norma's greatest joy was spending time with her family. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafts, reading, and puzzles.

She has been a member of The Church of Incarnation for about forty years. For many of those years she was an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society and Chairman of many church events. She served as a catechism teacher for third and fifth grade students and a eucharistic minister.

Norma was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas for over fifty years. She was active on the local, state and national levels. She served as court regent, state regent, and district deputy for several courts and as a National Chairman under "The Circle of Love Program" dedicated to charitable projects.

She was a devoted daughter to the late Andrew O. Jones and Elsie (nee Ralph). A dear sister to Harriet Gould, Andrew O., Jr., (deceased), Carole Certo, James Jones, Ronald Jones and Andrea Rollins.

A devoted Mother of Robert (June), Donald (Beth), Joseph (Fern), Janice  (Les), and two children predeceased, John J. III, (Nancy) and Patricia (late John).

Loving grandmother of Wendy, Christopher, Thomas, Jason, Amber, Dustin, Lisa, Theresa, Joseph, Shawn, Matthew, Lauren, Katherine, Vincent, Dana, and the late Michele. Great-grandmother of Jessica, Conner, Jacob, Julia, Olivia, Robert, Natalie, Joshua, Emily, Alexander, Adam, Brooklyn, Briana, Ava, Chase, Asher, Audrey, Julianna, Audrina, Tess, Lia, Caleb, Rhiannon, Cassidy, and Joseph.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, February 8 from 9:45AM to 10:45AM at The Church of the Incarnation, 240 Main Street, Mantua, NJ.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM. Interment New Saint Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ.
