Ernest Pepe

Obituary of Ernest A. Pepe

Ernest A. Pepe, 89, of Wenonah, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Legacy
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ernie was a proud United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.  Ernie met the love of his life, Doris and they lived in Wenonah for 59 years in the house that Ernie built with his Dad. Prior to retiring in 1989, Ernie was employed by the US Postal Service for almost 36 years.  Ernie wore many hats;  he was also a professional house painter and a delivery courier for Fulton Bank.

A kind gentleman, Ernie was quiet spoken, yet firm.  He had an impeccable work ethic and was always there to lend a helping hand.  Family always came first and gatherings were filled with tales from Ernie's storytelling.  He would jokingly tell his grandchildren he didn't have a computer and preferred the old fashioned books and newspapers.   He enjoyed tending to his yard, bowling and socializing with his neighbors; especially Tom.  Even though baseball was his passion, Ernie could discuss sports and stats with anyone who would listen.

Family
Beloved husband of 59 years to Doris Pepe (nee Norton); loving father of Suzanne (Michael) Murphy, Stephanie (Joseph III) Haley and Stephen (Patsy) Pepe; cherished grandpop of Conor, Devon, Madison, Sydney and Joseph IV.
