Obituary of James David Gowland, Sr.

James D. Gowland, Sr., 75, of Turnersville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 21, 2021.

Legacy

He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. James was a proud member of the United States Army serving during Vietnam War and a member of the Sprinkler Fitters local 692. James was an Ordained Deacon in the Episcopal Church. He loved traveling with his wife and enjoyed many times at the Jersey shore.

Family

He is the beloved husband of 53 wonderful years to Janice Gowland (nee Garson). Devoted father James D. Gowland, Jr. and Julie Vadino. Treasured grandfather of Leela, James III, Juliette, Sonny and Allison. Son of the late Edmund and Mary Gowland. Dear brother of Paul Gowland (late Marlene), late Joan Cooper (late Don), late Anne Shore and the late Edmund Gowland, Jr. Adored uncle to his special niece Kim Feldman. He will be missed by many friends, family and his furry companion Brownie.

 

Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Thursday, December 9th from 10:00AM to 11:00AM in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 315 Highland Terrace, Pitman, NJ 08071. Funeral Service at 11:00AM. Entombment to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan Hospice www.samaritanhealthcarenj.org.
