Obituary of James McBee, Jr.

James T McBee Jr., a resident of Sewell, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 24, 2021.  He was 70.


Legacy
Jim was the proud graduate of Hotchkiss Prep School in Lakeville, CT where he was one of the first African American students from 1965-1969.  He then continued his education at Brown University in Providence, RI, where he met his future wife, Robin.  After receiving his BA at Brown, he furthered his career by earning two Master's degrees at both VCU & Rowan University.  
When not spending time with his loving family, Jim enjoyed golfing, reading, watching sports and being an active & devoted member of his church, where he sang in the church chior. He was an active mentor for Project Impact at Rowan university and was affectionately known as "Bee" at school and his family loved calling him "Jimmy". 
 
Family
He is the beloved husband of 42 years to the late Robin McBee (Haskell); loving father of Analeah Torres (Basilio) & Emily McBee (Nate); dear brother of Dawna Bowles and the late Ellen McBee-Grayson, Theodore Bowles and Reginald Bowles; cherished grandfather of Jasiah, Brayden, Cameron, Nathan and Brooklyn and also a host of nephews, nieces and dear friends.

Jim was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle, mentor, and friend. To know him was to love him. He will be missed by all!

Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jim's memorial service on August 14, 2021, beginning at 2 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Cherry Hill, 401 Kings Hwy, Cherry Hill, NJ  08304.
