Lori Peter, Lauren, Emily, Kristen and Jason,
When Amy called last night and started to say the name McKenna, my heart came into my mouth and I started to cry kinda knowing what I might hear. All Amy said was "you have to call Lori, Mom". Thank goodness, Lori, you found Amy after working hard to find us, your parents missing friends (of close to 40 years). I called in hopes you were still awake and as soon as I heard your voice, I broke down-No was all I could think, No. Tom had visited in the summer while I was away and found Mom not herself after back surgery and Dad a bit dismayed with the recovery. We tried to get together but Mom was just not up to it - so a letter was sent. Dad responded with updates and also in the Christmas card, however, there was a lack of hope in his tone.
You have to know how sorry we are and how much we loved them and you girls like family. We spent many wonderful/fun times and trips together - our dinner parties, weddings, anniversaries and Mom's 50th (with my poor rendition of 50 Candles to the tune of Sixteen Candles - ugh!). Our dearest friends, Arlene and Ray, will be sorely missed and we hope they are at peace.
You all are in our thoughts and prayers and we pray peace and comfort will come to make your lives whole again.
Mr and Mrs. Fowler

To the McKenna Family,
I am so truly sorry for the loss of your mom and dad. I moved into the neighborhood in June, 2016. Ray was so kind to welcome me into the neighborhood. He always waved to me and always had a kind word about me and my dog Greta. I never new Arlene. He told me how they always traveled and enjoyed life until she took ill and was not able to do it anymore. I will miss that kind man who always acknowledged my presence. May Ray and Arlene rest in peace and I hope your family will someday find peace.

Woodruff Trail is in mourning the loss of Ray and Arlene. We had gathered together Weds. in remembrance of a wonderful couple who truly were, as everyone says, joined at the hip. Good times will be missed but wonderful memories prevail. Laughter from their back deck reverberated throughout our street as well as Ray's aroma of barbecuing their dinner. Gathering at their home whereby Arlene, not only a fabulous cook, was a gracious hostess. Ray working at her side as host and bartender. As St. Patrick's Day approaches we will remember Ray with his celebratory hat and Arlene giggling at his side. Woo Woos at Scotland Run will never be the same. Ray's meandering down the street with Dudley as he stopped by for a chat. Ray the gentle soul and kind man he was and Arlene the boisterous gal telling her funny tales of her life. Oh, so many memories! Our heartfelt sympathy is extended to the McKenna family over the loss of their mom and dad, their grandmother and grandfather, and friends of so many!
