Obituary of Carl Lewis

Carl Lewis, 78, of Washington Township, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021.

Legacy

Carl was born in Brunswick North Carolina on June 9, 1942 to Lindsay and Mary Elizabeth Lewis who predeceased him. 

Carl dedicated his life to his country serving in The United States Navy retiring after 22 yrs as a  Boiler Technician Master Chief Petty Officer.  After retirement, he went to work for the VA Hospital for many years.  But his most important work in life was taking care of Ann until her passing.  He was a wonderful and quiet neighbor who enjoyed going to the horse races and loved animals.

Family

Beloved husband of The Love of His Life, Ann (nee Coan) Lewis; brother of Nancy Sawyer of Rialto, CA,; uncle of Lisa Curtis;  Lindsay Sawyer, Mark Lewis and great uncle to several great nieces and nephews.  Carl is predeceased by his sister Frances Lewis, brother Barney Lewis, niece Sharon Lewis.  

The family would like to acknowledge and give a big thank you to his friends John and Elisa LaPalomento and Charles and Mary Matthews.  They were truly his angels.

Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Carl's Memorial Ceremony on Thursday, April 22, 2021, 10:00 AM at McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, New Jersey.  Interment and Military Honors will be presented.at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA, where Carl will be laid to rest with his beloved wife, Ann.
