Obituary of Dorothy K Pastor
Dorothy K. Pastor (nee Kurtz), 92 of Oak Valley, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.
Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, mom mom, sister, aunt and friend. Born in Shamokin, PA, moved to Philly with her brother and met the love of her life Frank on a blind date. They raised their family in Oak Valley, NJ. She liked listening to Showtunes, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. A member of St. Margaret's Women's Club and very active member with Catholic Daughters of America for 50 years where she held various officer positions. She cherished her time with her grandkids and especially loved playing rummy with them. She enjoyed Crocheting, crafts, sewing, making baby blankets and towels for the Incarnation Bazaar. She was an excellent baker and made the best beef pot pie with her secret of putting pickle juice on the top. She started her career in her 50’s where she worked as a bookkeeper for Dr. Flynn for 20 years.
She is the beloved wife of 58 wonderful years to the late Frank Robert Pastor. Devoted mother of Nancy (Michael) Pastor, Robert F. Pastor, Thomas J. Pastor, Jennifer Polidoro and the late Judith Ann Pastor. Treasured grandmother of Matthew, Andrew, Joey, Christopher, Alex, Nicholas and Anthony. Daughter of the late Margaret and Francis Kurtz. Dear sister of the late Mildred Hayduck and Harold Kurtz. She will be missed by nieces, nephews, family and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday, February 22nd from 9:00AM to 10:00AM in the McGuinness Funeral Home (Woodbury Location) 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096. Funeral Mass to Follow at 11:00AM in Infant Jesus Parish at St. Margaret’s Church 3rd & Beech St., Woodbury Hgts., NJ 08097. Interment New St. Mary’s Cemetery Bellmawr, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Margaret’s Church St. Vincent de Paul Society, 334 Beech Avenue, Woodbury Heights, NJ 08097.
