David Haywood

Obituary of David C Haywood

On December 25, 2020, David Charles Haywood received his wings and was called Home. He was born in Camden, NJ on June 14, 1962 to the late Charles A. Haywood and Jessie Mae (Nettles) Haywood.

As a young child David accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Camden, NJ. David was educated through the Camden City School system, graduating from Camden High in 1980. He attended All-State Career School where he received his Commercial Driver’s License. David loved driving over the road.

In 1986 David met and married Jacquelyne Gwendell Fair. From that union two beautiful daughters were born. David adored his girls and will certainly always be looking over their shoulders.  He was a loving and doting father.

In 2018 David married his beloved wife Jamie Crain. They enjoyed many long walks, going to the movies and vacationing. David’s favorite destination was Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.  They took great pleasure in making plans for their future. Jamie cherished her husband and will miss him dearly. He was a loving stepfather. His presence they will miss.

David He was affectionately known to his family and friends as “Woods”. He was so very funny and quick witted. He loved movies and cooking. He started making gourmet breakfasts as a child and it was one of his lifelong trademarks. Everyone loved David’s pancakes!  There was not a dish he could not master. His beef stew and shrimp scampi could put 5-star restaurants to shame! He loved sports, especially basketball, which he played in high school and the Eagles were his team. One of David’s favorite hobbies was building and flying model airplanes. David was also fond of the musical stylings of Liberace and Frank Sinatra! He loved children and volunteered often at Jacquelyne’s Bee Nee’s Babies Educational Learning Center in Philadelphia, PA. The children loved him.

David leaves to cherish  his memory, his loving wife Jamie Haywood, his children, Clarice Joie-lee Haywood and Jacquelyne Charlee Haywood, his stepchildren Brianna (Cole) Gardener , Angelo Durasoff, and Jacob Durasoff, one grandson, David Jesse Haywood, three sisters, Deborah Ann Moore, Charlene Haywood, and Diane Haywood, a younger brother(predeceased) Michael Warren Scott, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and one aunt.
