Obituary of James L. Lafferty

James L. Lafferty, Jr., 76, of Collingswood, New Jersey, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.

Legacy

Jim was a kind and generous guy,  who was always there for others.  Family and friends were treated to his gourmet cooking and baking and entertained by his wonderful story telling.  A big smile and a great laugh went right along with his friendly disposition.  Jim's passion was fly fishing at Penn’s Creek and vacationing at Lake George and Sea Isle City.  He tended to his garden with quite a green thumb. He also enjoyed good tv and a good book. 

Jim was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. As a resident of Collingswood for 47 years, he loved living and working in what he called the best of small-town America. Jim was employed as a realtor at Main Street Realty Agency.

Family

Beloved husband of 47 years to Kathleen (nee Palma); devoted father of Doreen Lafferty, Dan (Kristine Annuzzi) Lafferty, Kelly Lafferty (Jason Stoudt) and the late Jimmy Lafferty; loving grandfather of Sophia, Julia, Emma, Owen, Zoe and Asher; dear brother of Anne Lafferty (IHM), Eileen (Jim) O'Neill, Jeannie (Bob) Szatkowski, Marge Lafferty (Mike Gunning), and sister-in-law Joan (Jerry) Cahill, and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Ceremony

A Memorial Mass for Jim will be celebrated privately.  A public celebration will be announced at a later date.

In lieu flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jim's name to the American Rivers Project at americanrivers.org or the ALS Association at als.org.
