Obituary of Gus P. Papahanges

Gus Peter Papahanges, 87, of Mantua, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, October 2, 2020. 

Legacy

Gus was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.  Former Owner of the Brooklawn Diner.  He was a proud member of the United States Army.  He was a member of the St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church Choir.

Family

He is the beloved husband of 52 years Marianthi Papahanges (nee Siliverdis); Devoted father of Peter (Tricia) and Stamatina (Chris).  Treasured grandfather of Jeff (Kara), Demitra, P.J., Athena, Stamatia, Gabriella, Carino and Melina.  Treasured great grandfather of Eliza and Lily.  Son of the late Maria and Peter Papahanges.  Dear brother of Helen P. Gardikes.  He will be missed by many family and friends.

Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday, October 7th from 11:30AM to 12:15PM in the Saint Thomas Greek Orthodox Church, 615 Mercer Street, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.  Service to follow at 12:30PM.  Interment Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery Williamstown, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Veterans Memorial Home of Vineland please call 856-405-4213. 

Due to Covid 19 Mask or facial coverings should be worn and social distancing should be observed when possible.  Do to government restrictions no more than 90 people in the church at one time.  Those planning on attending please register.
