Obituary of Russell E. Montgomery, Jr.

Russell E. Montgomery, Jr., age 94 passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2020.

Legacy

Russell lived most of his life in Egg Harbor City and Green Bank, NJ and then moved to Sewell, NJ. 

He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He served honorably in the United States Army during World War II.  As a member of that remarkable generation, he arose early each day to work hard, and as a result, he never had time to complain about anything.

As a project manager, he supervised the construction of many research laboratories for prominent corporations in the medical, pharmaceutical and energy industries.

Perhaps he would tell you that his favorite lifetime achievement was personally building a natural refuge for his family above the banks of the Mullica River in his beloved Green Bank.

His soul resides with the Almighty, but his heart will always rest in Green Bank.

Beloved husband of 76 wonderful years to Eleanor (Laielli) Montgomery; loving father of Russell E. Montgomery III (Nancy), Linda Brizzi (Joe), Janet Montgomery (Pat); cherished grandfather of Ryan Montgomery (Deborah), Michael Montgomery (Elizabeth) & Amanda Brizzi; great-grandfather of Russell E. Montgomery IV, Julia Montgomery, Megan Montgomery, Amelia Montgomery and Caroline Montgomery; dear brother of the late Shirlee Crowley and James Montgomery.  

A memorial service will be held in the near future to celebrate Russell’s life and the website will be updated at that time.
