Matthew Poole

Obituary of Matthew J. Poole

Matthew Joseph Poole (Matt) went to the Lord on May 4th, 2020 after a hard battle with coronavirus.  He was met by the arms of his late beloved mother, Dianna T. Poole at Heaven’s gate.  Matthew was born on March 28th, 1983 and grew up in his hometown of Deptford, NJ.  He was well known throughout the township and always made the effort to genuinely know everyone he met.  He graduated from Deptford high School in the class of 2002.  Later in years he moved to Browns Mills, NJ where he made many friends.

He is survived by his loving father, Joseph M. Poole, Beloved sister Angela M. Newman (Jeff)and cherished grandmother Mary Finkelday and is the grandson of the late Joseph F. Poole, and  Angelo & Rita Alessi; dear uncle of Nick & Annie, Nephew of James Poole, Rose & Bill Browning and is also survived by numerous cousins, close family and many dear friends.

Even though Matthew faced many challenges in his life, it never stopped him from being a loving, social, and kind person.  He cared very much about his family, friends and neighbors, and would always check in with them to make sure they were O.K. Matthew found peace at St. Margaret’s Church by having God as part of his life. He was also a passionate sports fan, and will be remembered for saying, “How about them Eagles”!  He lived for days when he could relax and watch all the Philadelphia sports teams while eating a delicious homemade meal surrounded by his family.  He loved just about any kind of music and was such a charismatic soul.  Watching Matt dance would make anyone laugh and he didn’t care one bit.  He lived to make people smile and laugh, so we all smiled and laughed with him.  His amazing spirit will live on in our memories and our hearts till the end of time.
