Obituary of Samuel McFarland

Samuel McClellan McFarland, 93, of Bellmawr, New Jersey formerly of South Philadelphia, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 23, 2020.

 

Legacy

Samuel, affectionately known as "Ting-a-ling" and "Grumpy Grampy", was born and raised in South Philadelphia.  He served proudly in the United States Army.  Sam was a telephone operator and a go getter always doing his best to provide for his family.  He was a generous, caring gentleman, always taking care of others.  He was selfless, never complained. loved to care of animals and take care of everyone's problems.  Sam had a green thumb and could always be found tending to his vegetable gardens.

 

Family

Beloved husband of the late, Olympia Lee (nee Maresco); loving father of Bernadette McFarland and the late, Joseph McFarland; loving grandfather of Maria, Alexis and Samantha McFarland and the late Richard DiDomizio; doting great grandfather of Joey, Johnny, Gianna, Olivia and the late Jennifer; dear brother of Isabel McFarland and Sara Avato, Isabel McFarland and the late Joe, James, Elizabeth D'Ambrosio, George, Frank and Helen Cortese.  Sam is also survived by his favorite niece, Barbara Squilla and many other loving nieces and nephews.

 

Farewell Tribute

Due to the National Health Crisis, services for Samuel will be held at a later date.
