Obituary of Mary Ellen Duke

Mary Ellen Duke (nee McGrath), 93, of Deptford, New Jersey, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020.

Legacy

A generous, caring and kind woman, Mary was devoted to taking care of her family. Her happiest times were spent with family and making wonderful memories that her family will treasure. Mary continued to enjoy her growing family, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed searching for a bargain while shopping, playing cards with friends and working on crossword puzzles and word searches. Some of her most treasured moments were from Stone Harbor, NJ where she lived for many years.

Born and raised in New York City, Mary was a resident of New Jersey since 1956 and resided in Woodbury Gardens, Evergreen Park and most recently, Deptford. She was a longtime parishioner of Holy Redeemer Church and now Holy Angels Parish. While living in Stone Harbor, Mary was a sales clerk for Mimi's Shop.

Family

Beloved wife of the late William F.; loving mother of William J. Duke (Peggy), Michael T. (the late Jana), James P Duke and the late Barbara A. Cianfrani (Lenny); cherished grandmother of Jonathon, Sharon, Katie, Casey, Becky, Michael, Erin, Billy and great grandmother of Olivia, Jonas, Peyton and Hannah. Mary is predeceased by her grandson, Bryan and siblings, Tommy McGrath, Hannah Phillips and Eileen Clancy. Mary has many nieces and nephews.

Farewell Tribute

Due to the National Health Crisis, services for Mary will be held privately and a public service will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
