ALBERT JOSEPH MEYER

Legacy

Albert J. Meyer of Woodbury Heights, NJ, age 77, died on Sunday, February 23, 2020. He was born in Woodbury, NJ on September 26, 1942. A resident of Woodbury Heights all his life, he was retired from Atlantic City Electric Company as Maintenance Supervisor and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union. He served his apprenticeship as a machinist at the New York Shipbuilding Corporation and was involved in the construction and testing of destroyers, aircraft carriers and submarines for the US Navy prior to the commissioning of the vessels. He was also a member of the Woodbury Heights Improvement, Protective & Fire Association.

Family

He is survived by his wife, Mary C. Meyer (Klein) of Woodbury Heights, son Albert J. Meyer, Jr. of Woodbury Heights, daughter Michele R. Meyer-Burch of Middletown, DE, daughter Mary Jo Meyer of Woodbury Heights, brother James P. Meyer of Plano, TX, sister Kathleen McCrink of Shamong, NJ and her husband Matt, and brother Michael D. Meyer and his wife Peg of Grapevine, TX.

Farewell Tribute

A gathering is scheduled for 10:30 AM and a Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 28, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Infant Jesus Parish, St. Margaret’s Church, Third and Beech Avenues in Woodbury Heights. Burial will be in Wenonah Cemetery, Mantua Township, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul society of St. Margaret’s Church, the House of Charity of the Camden Diocese or Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive Suite 300 Marlton, NJ 08053.
