Obituary of Howard R. Covert

Covert, Howard R. of Williamstown, NJ on May 21, 2003. Age 45 years. Mr. Covert was an E-7 Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army for 23 years where he retired from Ft. Campbell, Ky. He served during the Persian Gulf War with the 101st Airborne Infantry in the 1st of the 5th Special Forces as a Paratrooper. Mr. Covert was awarded the Army Achievement Medal 5th Award, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Valorous Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Star, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Saudi-Kuwait Liberation Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal-Government of Kuwait and the Driver and Mechanic Badge. in his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, singing and playing various musical instruments, hunting, camping and he will be remembered for being a very talented and artistic man whose greatest love was serving his country in the Armed Forces. He is the beloved husband of Joan Marienee Long for 11 years. Devoted father of Thomas Berridge IV, Jonathan Nevan Berridge and Adam Covert. Loving brother of Diane Custer, Helen Faye Luce, Lydia Griffith, Sharon Rill, LuRena Barnhardt, and the late Donna Davs and Rose Hackertt. Son of the late Howard and Nellie Covert.
