Obituary of Mary R. Borrelli

BORRELLI?TARTAGLIA -Mary Rita nee LaPenna on May 26, 2003 of West Deptford, NJ formerly of S. Phila., PA. Aged 92 years. Born in Roseto, PA, Mrs. Borrelli was a homemaker, devoted mother and grandmother. She was especially proud to have worked as a riveter at the US Naval Shipyard, Phila. during WWII. She was a long time member of St. Rita?s RC Church, Phila. Mrs. Borrelli frequented many Italian-American social functions and was an avid traveler. She enjoyed day trips to the casinos in Atlantic City, participating in the West Deptford Senior Citizen?s activities and spending time with her children & grandchildren. She is the beloved wife of the late Benjamin J. Tartaglia, Sr.?concert pianist & piano teacher of S. Phila and the late Charles Borrelli local entertainer, who hosted an Italian language radio show, co-authored the ?Eagles Fight Song? and could be found daily playing the piano at Palumbo?s Nostalgia restaurant. Devoted mother of Benjamin J. Tartaglia, Jr. and Maria Jacobs, dear sister of Rose McDermott, loving grandmother of Benjamin, III, Lisa Maria, & Anthony and great-grandmother of Giavanna & Benjamin Alfonso. Funeral Mass Fri 11 AM in St. Patrick RC Church, Cooper & Euclid Sts., Woodbury, where friends may call after 10 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cem., Yeadon, PA.
