Gottlieb W. Erdwein, ?Bill? 90 of the Oak Valley section of Deptford died peacefully in his home on Wednesday August 20. Mr. Erdwein was born in Philadelphia, PA. During World War II and the Korean War, he delivered supplies to military installations all over the world and was awarded the Purple Heart. He graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY. He served as a navigator for Atlantic Richfield Co. for 47 years. He was especially proud that he navigated the earth 8 times. After his retirement, Mr. Erdwein taught masonry at Camden Co. Vocational School. He was a member of the VFW Post #7125 in Verga, NJ and the Arco Retirement Club. Husband of the late Marie McShane Erdwein and Amalia ?Connie? Erdwein. Father of Marie Hudy, Elizabeth Effinger and William Erdwein. Step-father of Angela Lindsay. Grandfather of 6 and step-grandfather of 1. Great-grandfather of 12 and step-great-grandfather of 5. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM Monday in the McGuinness Funeral Home 34 Hunter St. Woodbury where family and friends will gather at 11:00 AM. Entombment Eglington Mausoleum.
