Obituary of Edward T. Glacken, Jr.

Edward T. Glacken, Jr., 35, of Glassboro, New Jersey, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

 Legacy

Happy, friendly and generous are just a few words that come to mind when people think of Ed.  He had a heart of gold and such a positive outlook on life.  With his friendly nature, Ed captured a room when he entered and made friends easily.  With all the adversities that he met, Ed never let the beast beat him.  Ed's philosophy on life "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning how to dance in the rain."   He enjoyed baking, gardening, extreme couponing and watching the sunrises on the beach.  Proud of his Irish heritage, Ed cherished time spent with his family, especially his nieces, Ella and Alana, who he adored.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Ed was a resident of Glassboro for thirty years.  He was currently a surgical technician at Cooper Medical Center and was looking forward to continuing his education at Our Lady of Lourdes Nursing School next year.  He previously was a server at Friendly's in Deptford and Glassboro.  

Family

Loving son of Marie T. Kerr and Edward Glacken, Sr.; devoted grandson of the late Michael and Eleanor Kerr, and Barbara Glacken and the late John;  dear brother of Shannon (Chris) Killelea and Gabrielle (Michael Cotter) Glacken; cherished uncle of Ella and Alana.  Beloved Husband of Christopher Holleran; Ed was also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ed's visitation on Saturday, January 4, 2020, 3:00 - 5:00 PM at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road Sewell, NJ  08080., where the Memorial Service will follow at 5:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Ed's name to MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, 2 Cooper Plaza, Camden, NJ   08013.
