Obituary of Helen Mary McWilliams
Helen Mary (nee Sykes) McWilliams, 76, of Westville Oaks section, originally from Drexel Hill, PA, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
A loving, kind and gentle woman, Helen was devoted to her family. She was her children's and grandchildren's biggest fan and supporter. She loved to watch movies, especially Disney movies, with her grandchildren, playing board games and cards. She also enjoyed watching shows about nature and science. A good political debate and a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee were often had with family members at her home. Helen had a heart of gold, a very generous nature and a huge love for animals. In her younger years, Helen was an avid bowler, swimmer and loved to play piano . Her family has many works of art from Helen including needlepoint, crochet pieces and charcoal sketchings of outdoor scenery. Cartography, traveling, trips to the shore and walks on the boardwalk were some other past times of Helen’s; but decorating for the Christmas holiday and listening and singing Christmas carols are some of the fondest memories that Helen has left for her family.
Beloved wife of 48 years to Joseph T. McWilliams, Jr.; Devoted Mother of Shannon (Jim Summers), Sean (Sara) and Scott (Kathy) McWilliams and Siobhan (Ray) Kinsella; Loving Grandmother of Jimmy, Colin, Reily, Austin, Shannon, Rachael, Gavin, Joseph, Jacqueline, Connor, Adelyn and the late Krysta Lynn; dear sister of Tom Sykes, Robert (Candy) Sykes and Agnes (Bill) Campbell. Helen is survived by many loving nieces and nephews and predeceased by her parents, Thomas F. Sykes, Jr. and Agnes (nee McIntyre) and her brother, Jimmy.
