Obituary of Frank A. Nadeo
Frank A. Nadeo, 80 , a longtime resident of Woodbury Heights, NJ, passed away on November 11, 2019.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Frank was a resident of Woodbury Heights since 1944. He graduated from Woodbury High School in 1957. After high school, Frank enlisted in the United States Navy where he served proudly for 23 years. Frank retired as a Chief Petty Officer and had served on destroyers and submarines. He served 45 months as a “Chief of the Boat” on a nuclear attack submarine. Frank also served as leading Petty Officer on 4 different ships. One tour as an instructor at U.S. Navy Submarine School. Frank finished his service as a recruiter in Philadelphia, South Jersey area.
He then worked for the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department for 13 years and retired in 2003.
Frank was a member of the VFW Post 7679, Mantua, NJ; Past Jr. Vice Commander; Past All-State Quartermaster; Past Post Adjutant; America Legion Post 133; Army Navy Union Branch 52; Fleet Reserve Assn. – Member At Large; Sons of Italy – Lodge #2580 and National Rifle Association – Life Member.
Frank worked as a Caddy Master, Woodbury Country Club and served on Borough Council from 1986 – 1988 for 18 months as Council President and 3 years as a Chairman of Streets and Lights Committee.
In his downtime, Frank enjoyed golfing, reading and music. He also loved his many furry companions. Frank will be dearly missed by many friends and family.
