Obituary of Bonalyn Selb

Bonalyn Selb (nee Wiedrich) of Mantua, formerly of Mullica Hill, NJ on September 12, 2013. Aged 90 years. Legacy Bonnie was born to Edward and Hazel (nee Bristol) in 1923 and spent her younger years in Batavia, NY with siblings Yvonne, Millicent and Constance. A 1941 graduate of Gloucester City High School, Bonnie proudly joined the United States Navy in 1942 and became a member of the Navy Waves as a code breaker. Bonnie met her husband, Leo at a high school event when they were both on military leave and their relationship flourished into 49 years together. Bonnie belonged to the Local, County and State Grange, she was on the 4H Directors Boards, and taught Sunday and Bible School at the Mullica Hill Methodist Church. She was a member of the All Women American Legion, served as president of the Garden State Waves and devoted member of the National Waves serving as newsletter editor for many years. She was a member of the Bristol Genealogy Association serving as editor for 20 years. Bonnie proudly served her country and loved speaking about WWII and her country. She was a loving and outgoing woman who would help anyone and would do anything for her family. Bonnie enjoyed playing BINGO and the penny slots at the casinos. She loved to travel with her family and her dear friend Peg Elliott. Family Beloved wife of 49 years to the late Leo. Devoted mother of Elaine Seiler (Robert), Leo F. Jr. (Cathy), and Edward (Elizabeth). Loving grandmother of 11 Adoring great grandmother of 14. Dear sister of Constance Davis and late Millicent Moore and Yvonne Wiedrich. Farewell Service Visitation Wednesday 7 PM- 9 PM & Thursday 10AM - 11 AM in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter St., Woodbury, NJ. Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM. Interment Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. Donations may be made in Bonnie's memory to Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial, 62 Battleship Place, Camden, NJ 08103.
