Obituary of Freda W DelPiano

Freda Wean DelPiano, née Weaver, passed away on December 7, 2018 at her home at Collingswood Manor (formerly Woodbury Heights), at the age of 89.

Beloved wife of 39 years to Dominick DelPiano; devoted Mother of Bruce Wean (Blanche), Janet Shoch (Rick) and Carol Carroll (Charlie); step-children James DelPiano (Eileen) and Kathleen DelPiano; cherished grandmother to Brian Wean (Vicki), Joel Wean (Desiree), Doug Carroll, David Carroll, Kyle DelPiano (Allison), Ryan DelPiano, Danielle Staccone (Derek); treasured great grandmother of Bella, Harper, Kennedy, London, Jaden, Leila, and Enzo. Predeceased by her first husband, Roy L. Wean, her 3 sisters and brother.

Freda grew up in Muir, PA, and graduated from Lankenau School of Nursing. She worked as an RN at Underwood Hospital, then became a school nurse, and finally a teacher. She taught Heath Occupations at Gloucester County Vocational Tech School for many years where she shared her love of nursing and inspired many to pursue health careers. 

Throughout her life she dedicated herself to many charitable causes and was an active member of St Stephen’s Lutheran Church. She loved to play games, enjoyed traveling (especially cruises) with family and friends and treasured time with family. She had a zest for

life, a love of trying new things, and a way of making everyone feel special.

A Memorial Service will be held on Dec 12, 2018 at 11am at St Stephens Lutheran Church, 230 E. Evergreen Ave, Woodbury, NJ.  Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any charity OR to St Stephens Lutheran Church for the Woodbury Food Bank OR United Methodist Communities at Collingswood Foundation.
